How a buyer orders from a seller's shop link

The buyer taps the link from a status, picks a size and orders. Then the order is split by who sends each part, each with its own delivery charge. If a supplier sends part of it, the order is cash on delivery and the page says why. Send on WhatsApp opens a chat with the order already written.

What does this tour show?

It shows the buyer's side of a sale. Tharushi, a sample buyer, saw Hiruni's status about her perfumes. Before, ordering meant a long chat: which sizes, how much, how to pay, what is delivery, where to send it. This tour shows the same order placed through Hiruni's shop link in about five minutes, with the chat at the end rather than the start.

There are three steps across two phone screens: the shop itself, and the Order placed page.

A chat order depends on both people reading every message correctly. Sizes get mixed up, an address arrives in three parts, and the seller copies everything into a notebook. A link lets the buyer choose from what is actually for sale, at the prices actually set, and the order reaches the seller as one record she can confirm. The conversation still happens on WhatsApp, but it starts from an order that is already right.

Step by step

  1. Tap the link from the status. At 11:20 Tharushi taps the code on Hiruni's status. Hiruni's Scents opens in her browser. A green strip at the top says Open for orders and Home delivery.

  2. Pick a size. The first product is Amber Night, with two size chips: 10ml at Rs 2,100 and 5ml at Rs 1,350. She taps 10ml and adds two. The button on that card changes to "In basket · 2".

  3. Notice the item sent by someone else. Further down is Sandal Bloom 30ml at Rs 4,200. Under its name, a small line says "Sent by Pure Bloom Fragrances". Hiruni resells this bottle for a supplier, and the supplier posts it. Tharushi adds one.

  4. Read the delivery terms before ordering. Under the products a line sets out the terms: delivery Rs 350, free over Rs 6,000, cash on delivery or bank transfer. The basket bar at the bottom shows 3 items and Rs 8,400 in goods. She taps Order.

  5. See the order split by sender. At 11:24 the Order placed page opens with "Thank you, Tharushi" and the order number. Her basket is shown in two boxes. "Sent by Hiruni's Scents": two Amber Night 10ml, Rs 4,200, delivery Rs 350. "Sent by Pure Bloom Fragrances": one Sandal Bloom 30ml, Rs 4,200, delivery Rs 350.

  6. Read why it is cash on delivery. A box headed Cash on delivery explains: part of this order is sent by another shop, so it is paid in cash when it arrives. The buyer knows this before she sends any message, so there is no argument at the door.

  7. Check the total. The total reads Rs 9,100: Rs 8,400 in goods and two delivery charges of Rs 350. The Rs 4,200 from Hiruni's own bottles is under her free-delivery amount of Rs 6,000, so her delivery charge applies.

  8. Send the written message. At 11:25 Tharushi taps Send on WhatsApp. A chat to Hiruni opens with the message already written: the order number, two Amber Night 10ml and one Sandal Bloom 30ml, the total, cash on delivery, and her name and area. She presses send. The order itself was already in Hiruni's list before the message arrived.

How the order adds up

Part of the orderSent byGoodsDeliverySubtotal
2 × Amber Night 10mlHiruni's ScentsRs 4,200Rs 350Rs 4,550
1 × Sandal Bloom 30mlPure Bloom FragrancesRs 4,200Rs 350Rs 4,550
Order totalRs 8,400Rs 700Rs 9,100

Each sender charges its own delivery because each sends its own parcel. If Hiruni's part alone had reached Rs 6,000, her line would have shown free delivery.

What does the seller see at the same moment?

While Tharushi is still on the Order placed page, a new order has already appeared in Hiruni's list under New, and the count on her Home screen has gone up by one. Hiruni does not need the WhatsApp message to know about it. When the message arrives, it simply matches an order she can already open, with the sizes, the delivery lines and the payment method exactly as the buyer chose them. The supplier's part is marked so that she knows she will not be posting that bottle herself.

Tips for sellers whose buyers order this way

  • Put your delivery terms where buyers can see them before they order. A buyer who knows the charge up front rarely complains about it later.
  • Set a free-delivery amount just above a typical basket. If most buyers spend around Rs 4,000, a free-delivery amount of Rs 6,000 gives a reason to add one more bottle.
  • Reply to the WhatsApp message quickly, even with a short "Got it, confirming now". It reassures the buyer that a real person has the order.
  • Tell buyers that resold items come in a separate parcel. The order page says so, but a line from you helps.
  • Keep the sizes on the link the same as those on your posters, so buyers find what they saw.

Common mistakes

Treating the WhatsApp message as the order. The order exists the moment the buyer taps Order. If you wait for the chat before confirming, an order from a buyer who never pressed send will sit unconfirmed.

Promising card payment. Buyers on the link pay cash on delivery or by bank transfer. Do not tell them otherwise in a status.

Forgetting the second parcel. When a supplier sends part of an order, the buyer gets two deliveries. If you only mention yours, the buyer may refuse the supplier's courier.

Leaving a sold-out size on show. If a size has run out, hide it or set its stock, or buyers will order something you cannot send.

What should you do next?

The order now needs Hiruni. The next tour in her day shows her confirming three orders, telling each buyer on WhatsApp, and checking a bank transfer slip before she packs anything.

If you are deciding on delivery charges, the pricing guide and the markup versus margin guide help you check that free delivery still leaves you a profit. The cash flow guide explains why cash-on-delivery orders need watching until the money is in your hand.

How EasyTaskr helps

A Share & Sell shop link lets buyers choose sizes, see your delivery terms and order from their phone. The order is split by who sends each part, with each sender's delivery charge, resold items are cash on delivery, and the WhatsApp message to you is written for the buyer.

Questions people ask

Does the buyer need an account to order?

The buyer orders from the seller's shop link in their phone's browser. They choose sizes, add to the basket and place the order, and the order appears in the seller's list straight away.

Why is my order split into two parts with two delivery charges?

Because two different shops are sending it. The seller sends her own products and a supplier sends the item she resells for them. Each sender has its own delivery charge, shown on its own line.

Why can I only pay cash on delivery for some orders?

When part of an order is sent by a supplier rather than the seller, that order is paid in cash when it arrives. The order page explains this, so the buyer knows before they send anything.

What does Send on WhatsApp do after ordering?

It opens a WhatsApp chat to the seller with the order number, the items, the total, the payment method and the buyer's name and area already written. The buyer only has to press send.

Is the order lost if the buyer never sends the WhatsApp message?

No. The order is already in the seller's list the moment it is placed. The message is a courtesy so the buyer and seller can talk, not the order itself.
